Just before the holidays, we commissioned a new BULLMER automatic cutting machine in our workshop.
Perfect timing — or a well-planned coincidence 😉
Why does this matter? Because cutting is where precision, efficiency and repeatability start.
✂️ Automatic cutting vs. die cutting — why both matter
Automatic cutting (BULLMER):
✅ Extreme accuracy & consistency
✅ Ideal for complex shapes, frequent design updates, short to medium runs
✅ Faster iterations during development and pilot production
⚠️ Slightly higher setup cost per run compared to steel dies
Traditional die cutting (still very much in use at FFG):
✅ Unbeatable speed and cost efficiency for large, stable volumes
✅ Robust and proven for long-running programs
⚠️ Less flexible when designs evolve or quantities fluctuate
👉 Our choice is not “either / or” — it’s “both”.
🚀 What this brings to our partners & customers
Faster development cycles and smoother design iterations
Better control of tolerances on technical fabrics and foams
The ability to scale from prototypes to mass production without changing suppliers
A manufacturing setup aligned with real-life product journeys — not just factory convenience
At FFG Bags, investments like this are not about machines. They’re about protecting our customers’ timelines, designs, and brands.
Now… let’s see what 2026 has in store 👀
